
We offer free art classes for low-income UC Berkeley undergraduate EOP students (Pell/Dream recipients) and low-income UC Berkeley graduate students.
Eligible students can take one free class at the Berkeley Art Studio during the 2026 Fall sessions. Please fill out the application below to be considered for the scholarship. Applications will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis. If your application is approved, you will receive an email from the Art Studio with next steps to register. Please do not register online and select “Pay Later through CalCentral” or you will automatically be charged for the class through Cal Central.
Enrolled UC Berkeley students who are residents of the Helen Diller Anchor House may apply to take a FREE art class at Berkeley Art Studio West during the Fall 2026 sessions. This scholarship is made possible by the Anchor House Programming Fund.
Please note that only courses offered at the Berkeley Art Studio West location are eligible for this scholarship. The Berkeley Art Studio West facility is located on the 2nd level of the Helen Diller Anchor House and is open Monday – Friday: 12pm-9pm, Saturday – Sunday: 12pm-5pm.

Students who have received an art studio scholarship will receive an email confirming they have qualified for a free class.
The Berkeley Art Studio works with multiple departments to verify eligibility. It takes up to 2 weeks to process applications. Applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis.
You may request a cancellation by emailing artstudio@berkeley.edu. Please cancel sooner rather than later so that other waitlisted students can use the scholarship funds and attend the class.

We recommend signing up for a different, available class/workshop instead, so you can still take advantage of the free class. If you would rather not enroll in any class, please email artstudio@berkeley.edu so we can reallocate the scholarship funds to a waitlisted student.
We do not recommend signing up for waitlists, as they can be quite long for popular courses (such as ceramics and painting), and there is no guarantee you will be able to enroll in the course.
Students who have received an art studio scholarship will receive detailed instructions via email on how to apply the scholarship funds to their art class enrollment.
