Knitting: Beyond the Basics – Spring

Are you ready to take your knitting to the next level? In this seven-week class you will learn intermediate knitting patterns and become a confident crafter! Have fun learning new techniques for color and texture, such as fair isle, intarsia, lace, and ribbings, to incorporate into your knitting. Patterns will be provided, but you can also bring your own. Students with experience are welcome.

Materials:

For the first class please bring the following:

  • set of size 8 or 9 straight knitting needles (wood is preffered)
  • two (or three) balls of worsted smooth yarn (not textured) weight yarn in any two (or three) different colors of your choice (any wool or acrylic that suits your aesthetic and budget and meets the criteria above will work)
  • any other yarn or needles that you have on hand
  • scissors
  • ruler
  • tapestry needle

Additional materials:

  • set of size 8 double pointed needles (dpn)
  • size 8 circular needle

 

Optional materials:

  • gauge ruler
  • stitch counter
  • tote bag or plastic bag to store your knitting
  • cloth measuring tape
  • additional yarn and needles (dpn or circular needles sized for selected project) may be needed depending on your personal knitting and preference
  • a pattern may be needed depending on your personal knitting and preference, select patterns will also be provided
