Embroidery: Self Portraits – Spring

In this 7-week embroidery course students will learn the basics for creating portraits using thread on linen. The course will begin with an image chosen by the instructor to introduce basic materials and design choices. Students will then build and stitch portraits of their own while experimenting with a variety of materials and techniques. Beginners are welcome.

Materials Fee: $20 to instructor, includes:
A project folder
A set of needles in a needlebook
Linen
Transfer materials
Instructional handouts
Printed samplers to practice techniques
Threads to match each technique

Intro to Embroidery – Winter

In this 7-week course students will learn a variety of stitches through demonstrations and practice. Each week you will develop your skills through sample stitching and a specialized class project. Tools, materials, and process are highlighted in this course. Students are also encouraged to seek advice on self-directed projects beyond the classroom. Beginners are welcome!

Intro to Embroidery & Beyond (Late Fall)

Simple stitches provide endless possibilities for capturing the magic hidden in the everyday. In this class students will learn from demonstrations and choose from a library of embroidery stitches to embellish motifs from daily life. Students are also welcome to work on self-directed projects and explore the beauty of embroidery. Beginners are welcome!
