Digital Arts: Intro to Comics (Late Fall)

Learn the versatile and expressive language of comics! Through in­ class exercises, lectures and demos, students will learn to make their own comics. We will cover the basics of character design, settings, panel logic, text bubbles, and digital drawing materials via Adobe Illustrator. Students will be encouraged to develop their own drawing style and to borrow freely from the rich and varied tradition of comic art. This course will offer you a well blended sampling of comics fundamentals and exploratory projects.

We have 4 desktop computers in our lab with the Adobe Suite downloaded. These computers are reserved for community members, but if you want to work on your own laptop you must purchase the software.
