Outdoor Painting in Oil (Plein Air)

Paint outside as the sun sets! We will work outside–plein air painting–on campus in the evening light. The focus of this course is learning the elements and principles of oil painting. Learn how to mix colors, creating images both abstract and realistic, and build a painting from start to finish, using the landscape of the Berkeley campus as inspiration.

This is an intermediate level class and prior experience with oil painting before taking this class is expected.

Note: We are following State, County and UC Berkeley guidelines regarding Covid-19 precautions. Students will be required to physically distance and wear face coverings.
