Figure Drawing

Develop your observation skills and learn how to draw from a live model in our figure drawing class. This class will help you develop your understanding of proportion, action, line sensitivity, and the illusion of volume. Each class will start with short poses by a nude model (15 sec -10 min) and transition to longer ones (20 min-1 hour).

Materials List:

18”x24” or larger newsprint drawing pad

Masonite drawing board 18×24″ (to fit your drawing pad)

Lithography crayon (stick/block form preferable to pencil form)

Pencil sharpener

Kneaded eraser

Art gum eraser

Soft and Medium Vine Charcoal

General’s Original Charcoal pencil set

Sandpaper or SandBlock (Fine Grit 180 or above)

X-acto Knife

Supply kits will be available at a 15% discount a week before classes begin at 2424 Telegraph, The Ink Stone.
