If you have questions on fabric choices, please email your instructor at artstudio@berkeley.edu

  • Focal or Feature Fabric - ¾ yard (all other fabric should work around this central fabric.  This fabric can be a fairly large print - one that would show up in 8” squares.  This fabric should not be directional (a clear up and down pattern).
  • Background - 1 ½ yards (This can be a solid (tone on tone) or an interesting print that works with and plays a supporting role to your focal fabric)
  • Coordinate A - ½ yard (Should blend closely with the focal fabric -- the tone should be similar to the focal fabric)
  • Coordinate B - ½ yard (Should blend closely with the focal fabric -- the tone should be similar to the focal fabric)
