Learn essential crochet techniques in this 7 week class. You will learn to read patterns and different crocheting techniques while creating unique textiles. We’ll focus on skill building, creating swatches or a sampler scarf. Patterns will be provided.
No class 6/19/25
Materials Fee: $20 payable directly to the instructor (kit includes two crochet hooks (4.0 mm and 5.0 mm), stitch markers, a tapestry needle, 50 g of worsted weight tube yarn, and worsted weight cotton yarn in two colors (50 g each).
Additional required materials
- Small scissors – You can look for “embroidery scissors” or “snips”, but any relatively small pair of scissors is fine.
- Pen or pencil
- Highlighter
- Bag for your crochet supplies – a basic tote bag is fine, you don't need anything specialized.
Optional materials
- More yarn – Additional yarn will be provided each week as needed in class. For the optional sampler scarf project, a limited selection of free yarn will be provided, but if you would like a different yarn to make your scarf with, you may purchase that independently. Please wait until after the first class to acquire additional yarn.
- Crochet hook(s) appropriate for your additional yarn. Other sizes of crochet hooks will be provided for in-class use as needed, but if you want your own, you will need to purchase it.
