Expressive Drawing with Pastels & More (Thursday) – LF

Expand your drawing practice into the world of pastels and beyond! In this 7-week class, students will explore pastels and other various drawing materials to blend, layer, and create depth with their artwork. Students will create harmonious compositions and leave the class feeling more inspired to experiment with their art. This class is open to all levels.

Materials List:

Required:

• Canson XL Dry Media 11x14” or pastel paper of similar quality
• Set of 24+ (more is always better if possible) soft pastels like this set
• Set of 24+ (more is always better if possible) oil pastels like this set
• Paper blending stumps/tortillons
• Kneaded eraser
• *Ideally* 2-3 hard pastels or pastel pencils in light tones for sketching, like these or these or these

Optional:

• Canson Mi-Tientes Assorted Pad size 12x16”
• Strathmore Pastel Paper Pad 18x24”
• Hard Pastel set and/or pastel pencils
• Wax crayons/pastels
• Charcoal pencils
• Graphite pencils
• Pastel blending tools
• Any other favorite dry drawing materials
