Sign up to use the Berkeley Art Studio’s black & white darkroom and use the space for film developing, photo printing, and scanning. The darkroom is available during open hours, but is not available during scheduled class times. Please check our website or the schedule posted on the darkroom door for more information. Please note that we cannot accommodate color film photography processing in our spaces under any circumstances. Paper and film are available for purchase at the Studio. It is required that each member sign up for each open studio visit prior to accessing the darkroom; more details will be provided upon registration. Please review the prerequisites needed for studio access below:
- Must have taken at least 1 darkroom photography class at the Berkeley Art Studio.
- Participants must be at the intermediate or advanced level and be able to develop film, scan negatives, and print photos in the darkroom independently.
- Completed Darkroom Open Studio application.
Please fill out the application linked above to be considered for the darkroom open studio program. Applications will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis. There are limited spots available for the program and if your application is approved, you will receive an email from the Art Studio with the next steps to register.
