Learn the ins and outs of creating unique crochet garments and accessories! In this 7-week class, students will learn about different construction and finishing techniques while designing and crocheting their own unique wearable piece.
This is an intermediate class and students should have experience crocheting basic stitches (chain, slip stitch, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet) and counting stitches and rows. To get the most out of this course, you should have some time in your schedule to work on your project outside of class.
No class 11/27/25
Required materials:
- Pen and/or pencil
- Notebook – graph paper is recommended
- Measuring tape
- Crochet hook(s) and yarn(s) you want to use for your garment. – If you already have your yarn on hand, you can bring a ball of it to the first class. If you do not already have a yarn in mind, you can wait until after the first class to purchase your project materials.
- Locking stitch markers – “Clover 353” stitch markers are recommended (but not necessary if you already have other stitch markers)
- Scissors – small scissors like embroidery scissors or snips
- Tapestry needle
- Additional notions needed for finishing garment (e.g. buttons) – These do not need to be purchased prior to the first class.
Provided materials for use during class:
- Various types of yarn for crocheting swatches
- Various sizes of crochet hooks
