Learn the ins and outs of creating unique crochet figurines and characters! In this 7-week class, students will learn about different construction and finishing techniques while designing and crocheting their own unique pieces.
This is an intermediate class and students should have experience crocheting basic stitches (chain, slip stitch, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet) and counting stitches and rows. To get the most out of this course, you should have some time in your schedule to work on your project outside of class.
No class 3/26/26
Required Materials
- Tapestry needle
- Locking stitch markers (e.g. the "Clover 353" stitch markers)
- Small scissors (any small scissors are fine, if you are going to buy new ones just for the class, you can specifically look for "embroidery scissors" or "snips")
- 3.5 mm, 4.0 mm, and 5.5 mm crochet hooks (5.5 mm is only required if you are making the frog project with the provided yarn)
- Pen or pencil
The following materials will be provided:
- Poly-fil stuffing
- Plastic safety eyes (8 mm, 10 mm, 12 mm, assorted other sizes)
- 22 gauge wire, pliers + cutters
- Worsted (#4) and DK (#3) weight yarn for use in class "lab" activities
- Yarn for suggested class project (poseable frog)
- Graph paper
You're welcome to bring your own yarn and materials if you want to make a different project than the frog.
