Learn the ins and outs of risograph printmaking in this comprehensive 7-week class! Students will have lessons and hands-on demonstrations on essential file preparation techniques, equipment basics, color palettes, and plenty of time to make prints. No printmaking or design experience is necessary.
No class 3/23/26
What to bring for class:
BAS will supply proofing (copy) paper and white printing (cardstock) paper size 11x17" and 8.5x11" for the class. If you want a different color or type of paper you must supply it yourself. Paper prints best when uniform, ie. factory cut, and must be uncoated (glossy paper does not work for riso).
- Digital files you want to print. If you are unsure what you want to work on, come with some loose ideas: drawings if you draw, photos, text, design.
Optional:
- ipad/tablet if you use one (Berkeley students can check out an iPad from the Creative Lab for the duration of the class)
- Sketchbook for brainstorming
- Not needed on the first day: any of your favorite black/greyscale drawing materials: pencils, pens, markers, etc, as well as collage materials for when we work on analog designs (I will also supply materials for this)
